The NY Mets are not very happy that all star center fielder Carlos Beltran went ahead and had his knee operated on before a third opinion from a doctor. My dear NY Mets you are crazy. Two opinions already and both said to operate. The Mets are upset because they will be without Beltran for the first part of the season.
Well, why not get the surgery done now so when the season starts to heat up you have one of your star players back? A recovery is about 12 weeks and we are about 2 months away from Spring training. Let Beltran heal now and be back when you will really need him.
After all, if you have the proper players to carry the team untill "star" players get healthy again then there should be no problem. One player cannot carry a team. Hence, the word "team".
If the NY Mets really care about their players like they say they do the Mets should have no problem with Beltran having the surgery. In my opinion, he should have had the surgery months ago. A knee problem is not something that should be left (for the most part) unresolved.
Well, as a Mets fan I would rather see Beltran missing the first part of the season instead of the middle or last part of the season. If anything, I am upset that Beltran did not have the surgery during the off season. If he had it during the off season he would be ready for the start of this season.
Just my take on the matter.
